As the days draw near to that last view, things get complicated. What couldn’t make me cry now do, your smile now remind me I have to walk alone. I remember you when I am happy, when I make major steps in life I find myself wishing you were here. I remember you when the world turns against me, when my walls are tumbling down you stay close to my heart, how I yearn for your embraces. Doing life is especially hard around such times, and understanding how things happened the way they did becomes a matter of urgency. I see people doing life with theirs and my heart skips a bit. I know you’d want me to be strong, I know you’d want be to be an eagle soaring higher but I seem to lack the strength. I am willing, I’m really trying but life is hectic without your prayers and encouragement. I hope I make you smile. I hope you are proud of me. However, as I get older I can’t help wishing you’d see the person I’ve become. I wish I’d tell you my embarrassing moments, to watch your face shine at my theatrics, to tell you about boys and listen to your advices. This void is one I can’t put behind. I am empty but your teachings are rich. So, today I choose to dwell on those lessons, to try and get Him to catch my vulnerable self. Today I tune your voice on, reflect on your goodness, and remember your life. I have decided to put my knees down and cry out to the one above, today He will heal my wounds, today He will lift my heavy burdens.

Though my grief heavy and broken my heart be, I choose to live a life of purpose through your teachings. Your love for He who dwells above propels me today. I know I need to work on my faith. I know I need to depend on God, because I believe you will be joining the angels on that day. I want to be with you. I want you to see me and thank God for me. I want to see you and remember, on my wayward days, on my burdened days, your love for God calmed my raging sea. Heartbroken though I am, today I put my big pants on and soldier on. It’s not an easy journey I know, but for the first time I am sure you’ll be cheering me on. Though the storm still strong, I’ve realized in my heart you will dwell for eternity. I want to hug you one last time, I want to kiss your cheek one last time, I want to see you one last time, but I am limited. Yet I am strong in faith, that when the trumpet of the Lord sounds, I shall kiss you forever. My hope, my beloved, is up yonder, where I know shall meet you again. Where I know we shall sing on forever. Today I bid you rest, with tears in my eyes and a smile on my face, because my heart is full of your memories and love. Where you couldn’t reach I will try reach. Where you fell short, I shall strengthen. Till we meet again my beloved, I bid you off with love in my heart.
