William Mzee Odongo
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the
passing of beloved William “Mzee” Odongo, who was called home on
Saturday, July 19, 2025, at Suburban Hospital, Maryland.
William was the husband of Josephine Owako.
William Odongo was beloved son of the late
Mama Turphena Kesia Nyawara and the late Mzee James Apollo Oloo Andhoga of East
Asembo, Omia Location, Kandaria School.
He was the beloved brother of Jane Owiti,
Canon Jane Staussi, Marilyn Oloo, Liz Oloo, his twin sister Susan Oloo-Oruya, Lillianne
Nyawara and Junnette Nyawara.
He was grandson of Mzee Jason Odongo and Mama
Rosebella Nyagol Odongo of Seme, Kakelo.
He was son-in-law of the late Jonathan Owako
and the late Mary Atieno Nyabongo of Kano, Nyamware. He was a brother-in-law of
Anthony Staussi, Dr. Mary Owiti-Andhoga, and Timothy Oruya.
He was uncle of Evon Akech, Ari Canadas, Trudy
Mwambala., Jayson Mwambala, Khama Owino Andhoga, Sylvia Andhoga-Theuri,
Nicholas Andhoga Keyamo, Joshua Oruya, Soraya Oruya, late Tina Owako, Jamie
Staussi, Kristina Staussi and Malaika Nyawara.
A funeral service will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday,
August 13, 2025, at the All-Saints Cathedral in Nairobi.
A second funeral service will be on Friday,
August 15 at St Matthews Kandaria Church, Asembo in Siaya County.
William Odongo will be laid to
rest at his home on Saturday, August 2025 16, in East Asembo, Omia, Kayoo Kandaria.
