Douglas Gor
Douglas Gor, a long-time resident of
Poughkeepsie NY, passed away Thursday, October 18, 2024, while undergoing
treatment for a heart condition at Westchester Medical Center Valhalla, NY.
He is survived by his wife, Donna,
two sons Andre and Doug Jr. and three grandsons and one granddaughter.
Doug was son of the late Hon. Simeon
and Dora Gor of Kanyamkago, Migori County.
Doug was brother of Jennifer Gor of Bulawayo,
Zimbabwe, Joyce Gor of North Carolina, Bill Gor and Susan Gor, both of
Maryland, Dennis Gor, Nicky Gor, Yvonne Gor, Vivian Gor and Lucas Gor, all of New
York.
He was an uncle of Carolyne, Betty,
Nicky, Elyakim, Oliane, Orville, and Patrick.
He was nephew of George and Jorim
Gaga, Caren Gaga, Grace Gor, Pamela Okoth, all of New York, and Joyce Madende
of Massachusetts.
Doug�s cousins include Janet Odongo
of North Carolina, Denis Madende of Massachusetts, Maurine Madende of Washington
State, Dosila and Wendy Madende, Roselyn and Justin Gaga, George Josiah, David
Okoth, Teresa Okoth, Samwel and Benson Okello, all of Poughkeepsie, New York.
He leaves behind a whole host of
other relatives not mentioned, including in-laws, nephews, and nieces.
Viewing will be from 6.00 p.m. to 9.00
p.m. on Thursday, November 7, 2024 at Michael Torsone Memorial Funeral Home,
218 Mill Street, Poughkeepsie, New York.
Church service will be held from
10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Friday, November 8, 2024 at reformed Christian
Fellowship, 100 Cannon Street, Poughkeepsie, New York.
Burial will follow from 1:30 p.m. on
November 8, 2024 at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery, 342 South Avenue,
Poughkeepsie, New York.
Repass will be at Caf� Maroon and
Club, 189 Church Street, Poughkeepsie, New York, immediately after the burial.
