Mzee Silas Okongo Ogony
It’s
with heavy heart that we announce the passing of Mzee Silas Okongo Ogony of Lwanda
Village, Kamasengre West in Rusinga, Homa Bay County, on April 12, 2025.
He
was son of the late Mzee Abisalom Ogony and Mama Wilkista Ogony of Lwanda,
Kamasengre.
He
was the husband of Jane Akello, and the father of Amos, Jessie, Jackie, Grace,
the late Jimmy, Otieno, Oluoch, Mary and Bernard.
The
late Silas Ogony was son-in-law of the late Cleophas Ondiek and Mama Mary
Nyangilo of Waregi Village, Rusinga Island.
His
siblings include Kezia Atieno, Elekiah Ojwang, the late Prisca, Oketch Okoth,
Odira, Oketch, Akoth and Adoyo.
He
was counsin of Paul, Peter, Harry, Uhuru Ogolla, the late Onyango and Odoyo.
He
was nephew of Maurice, the late Wambi, Ongoto, Jomo, Rowa and Ochola.
The
late Silas Ogony was father-in-law of Agnes, Irene, and the late Janet. He was
brother-in-law of Ouma Cleophas and Moses Odero.
The
late Silas ogony, who was a staunch member of Litare Seventh-day Church, will
be buried at his home in Lwanda Village, Kamasengre West on Friday, June 6,
2025.
