It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance
of God’s will that we announce the passing of James Okumu Oyiengo on November
25, 2024 after a short illness.
He was the son of the late Mzee Silas Oyiengo
Okumu and the late Mama Mary Nyona Okumu.
James Okumu Oyiengo was the son -in-law of the late Simeon Eganza Ukiru and Serah Eganza Ukiru of Mbale. He was loving husband of Rachel J Okumu, former CECM, Public Service & County Administration, Kakamega County.
He was father of Mary, Serah, Olivia, Nicole
and Natalia, and father-in-law of
Temitope, Hamisi and Martin.
The later James Okumu Oyiengo was
grandfather of Sonia, Sasha, Rachel, Serah, Halima, Fabien and Stephanie.
He was brother of Edward Lukale, Hellen, the late Ruth Ambale, the late Neriah
Tecla, the late Anne Ateru, the late Marisela, the late Patrick Aziz, the
late Michael Ashindu and the late Elizabeth.
He was brother-in-law of Roselyn, the late
Henry Mudamba, Anne, the late Eliud, Naomi, the late Kadagi, Angela,
Joan, Prof Jaganyi, Erica, Lomba, Joy, Zablon, Peter, Grace, Dan, Nancy,
Jesse, Christine, Madegwa, Michael and Nancy. He was a cousin of the
Oderas, Omungalas’, Abutis’, Apalas, Anindos, and the Omukubas’.
A memorial service at 10 a.m. on Thursday, November 28, 2024 at ACK St Pauls Church, Nairobi West, opposite Moi Educational Centre.
A second memorial service at St.
Stephens ACK Mulwanda at noon on Friday, November 29, 2024.
Service will be at Mulwanda Primary School from 9 a.m. on
November 30, 2024. He will be laid to rest at his home in Mulwanda,
Ebukondosi Village, Khwisero Sub-county, Kakamega County.
