It is with deep sorrow that we announce the
sudden death of Beatrice Akinyi Okinda on Thursday, April 17, 2025, in Nairobi.
She was the wife of Gerson
Owino Okinda of Gunda Village, Kaswanga, Rusinga Island in Homa Bay County.
She
was the mother of Ashlyne Powell, Bailey Sonia, Mayer Sophia and Hawi Henry.
She was the daughter of the late Mzee Johnson Otieno Oloo and Mama Sophia
Adhiambo Oyugi of Central Kadem in Migori County.
Her
siblings include Lawrence Ochieng, Ronnicks Ochieng, Leonard Oluoch, Joseph
Ouma, Richard Odhiambo, Willis Ochieng, Lucy Akoth, Esther Atieno, and Joyce
Achieng.
The late Beatrice Akinyi Okinda was daughter-in-law of the late Mzee Henry Okinda, Teodora, Jennipher,
Regina, Jane, Caren, Philgona, Elider, Beldina, Agnes and many others.
She was sister-in-law of Moses, Nicholas, Daniel, Sammy, George,
Amos, Peter, Eric, James, David, Kennedy, Dedan, Owuor, Misa, Shem, Minyafu, Frank, Robert, Damaris, Linet, the late Caren,
Helen and many others.
The
body will leave Montezuma Funeral Home in Nairobi on Thursday, May 1, 2025, for
overnight stay at her Gunda Village, Kaswanga home.
Burial
will be on Friday, May 2, 2025, in Gunda Village, Kawanga, Rusinga Island in
Homa Bay County.
