It’s with deep sadness that we announce the death of Samwel Mwenda Muthomi on Thursday, January 15, 2026.Samwel Mwenda Muthomi hailed from Ntuuru Village, Nkubu. He was the chief principal of Abothuguchi Boys Senior and Secondary School.
He was son of the late Muthomi Mrugongo and Rebecca Mucai M’Miruri.
The late Samwel Mwenda Muthomi was the husband of Joyce Karimi Mwenda, and the father of Morris Kinoti, Silva Gakii and Ezra Gitonga.
He was father-in-law of Mercy Ncooki. He was brother of Ruth Karwirwa, Hellen Kendi, Geoffrey Ndumba, Catherine Kananu, the late Joyce Gacheri, Christine Kagendo and Solomon Gatunga.
He was grandfather of Kinya, Melvin Mureti, Munene Morris and Chloe Kawira.
The late Samwel Mwenda Muthomi was son-in-law of Mr and Mrs Japheth M’thinji. He was brother-in-law of Misheck, Stanley, Karea, the late Jennifer, Julia, Margaret and Alice.
The cortège will leave Cool Breeze Funeral Home Kirachene at 8 a.m. on Friday, January 30, 2026, for a funeral service at Heritage Gardens, Nkubu. Burial will follow at his Kathanthatu Village home.
