Harrison Owino Amonde Orifa - The Chief
It’s with acceptance
of God’s grace that we announce the sudden death of our father Harrison Owino Amonde
Orifa, fondly known as The Chief, on Sunday, March 1, 2026, in Rusinga Island, Homa Bay County, Kenya.
He was the loving
father of Zadock Orifa (Papa) and Mitchel Orifa, both of Quebec, Canada.
Harrison Owino Amonde was son of the late Mzee Zadock Orifa and the late Mama Kilaris Orifa of Kamayoge Village, Kamasengre in Rusinga Island, Homa Bay County.
He was the stepson of the late Mama Silpa Achola Orifa.
He was father-in-law
of Zahra Fatimatou, and grandfather of Faisal Mounchilli, David Orifa, Nathan
Orifa and Aiden Amonde Njankouo Orifa, all of Canada.
He was brother of Esther
Anyango Ogowo, Jane Omollo, the later Jack Orifa, the late Uhuru Orifa, the
late Angawa Orifa, Martin Odell Orifa and Joel Masanga Orifa.
He was uncle of
Maurine, Dan, Ochieng and Zadock Orwa,
and Nick Ogowo, among others.
He was father-in- law
of Ousmanou Njankouo, Ismaila Njankouo, Salif Mouliom, Ramatou Mariembe and
Kone Aisha.
Burial is planned for
Friday, March 20, 2026, in Kamayoge Village, Rusinga Island, Kenya.
